Description
A collection of Royal Air Force interest memorabilia comprising three cast brass desk models of the Supermarine Spitfire and a vintage reference book. The first model is finished in polished brass with a three-blade propeller and is mounted on a tall, stepped circular brass pedestal stand. The second model features cast surface panelling detailing and is mounted via a central post to a rectangular dark wood plinth. The third model includes a three-blade propeller and is mounted on a curved C-shaped stand with an oval base. The accompanying book is titled Spitfire: A Complete Fighting History by Alfred Price, a hardback volume with an illustrated dust jacket. No legible manufacturer marks, stamps, or symbols are visible on the exterior surfaces of the models.
Condition report:
The models are in good vintage condition, each exhibiting a natural aged patina and minor surface scratches consistent with age. The model on the tall pedestal shows heavier tarnishing to the brass. The book dust jacket shows edge wear, light creasing, and minor chipping to the spine extremities.
