Description
A trio of Royal Mint commemorative five-pound crown coins in their original illustrated card presentation folders. The collection includes a 1996 crown commemorating the 70th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II, a 1997 Golden Wedding Anniversary crown, and a 1998 crown commemorating the 50th birthday of HRH The Prince of Wales. The 1996 issue features the obverse legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F D, which translates as Elizabeth II by the Grace of God Queen, Defender of the Faith. The 1997 issue features the dual portraits of the Queen and Prince Philip on the reverse. The 1998 issue features a reverse portrait of the Prince of Wales by Michael Noakes. These crowns were issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate significant royal anniversaries and birthdays.
