Description
A walking cane constructed from a dark, polished wood, consistent with ebony. The handle is hand-carved into the form of a stylized bird’s head, which loops back to the shaft to create a closed grip. The bird’s eye and the upper portion of the shaft are decorated with numerous circular, cream-colored inlays, likely bone. Below the handle, the shaft features a spiral barley-twist design, also decorated with corresponding circular inlays. No maker’s marks or inscriptions are present.
