Description
A pair of sterling silver items, comprising a Coronation spoon and a decorative brooch. The spoon features an elongated, intricately detailed handle with twisted and segmented sections adorned with geometric patterns. The extensively engraved bowl displays scrolling foliage and floral designs. Hallmarks on the reverse of the bowl include the lion passant, the Birmingham assay office anchor, a date letter ‘s’, and a maker’s mark ‘B&T’. The square-shaped brooch features a central engraved botanical motif, possibly a fern, flanked by scalloped shell-like designs at each corner. The reverse of the brooch reveals a functional pin mechanism along with hallmarks including the lion passant and the Birmingham assay office anchor. Both items date to the late 19th to early 20th-century period.
