Description
A Metropolitan Police 150th Anniversary Solid Nickel Silver Limited Edition Medal, produced by The Tower Mint. This commemorative medal is presented in its original two-part hinged box. The rectangular box features a textured, dark blue exterior. Upon opening, the lid reveals a cream fabric lining, printed in gold with the inscriptions: “METROPOLITAN POLICE,” “1829-1979,” “THE TOWER MINT,” “16, ROYAL MINT STREET, LONDON,” “SOLID NICKEL SILVER,” and “Limited Edition.” The base of the box is lined with dark blue velvet. The circular medal’s visible obverse is inscribed “METROPOLITAN POLICE,” “1829-1979,” and “150th ANNIVERSARY,” alongside a relief depicting two figures and a building.
