A Roman gold ring set with a garnet. This small, antique-style ring is crafted from gold, featuring a plain, slender round shank. The central element is a high-set, pointed cabochon or truncated pyramidal cut gemstone, very dark in color, appearing black or deep reddish-brown. The stone is held within a simple bezel setting, further secured by four small, separate prongs connecting the bezel to the band.
