Lot 52: Canada 2017 Elizabeth II Fine Silver 1/4 Ounce 3 Dollars Coin

A 2017 Canadian commemorative silver coin, struck to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, set against a black field. The legend reads ELIZABETH II, 3 DOLLARS, and D · G · REGINA. The reverse displays a stylised design of three maple leaves in varying sizes with a contrasting black and silver finish. The reverse is inscribed CANADA, 9999 on both sides of the central leaf, 1867 / 2017, and FINE SILVER 1/4 OZ ARGENT PUR. The initials SW, for artist Stan Witten, are struck to the lower right of the maple leaf design. The coin features a reeded edge and is struck in .9999 fine silver.
