Lot 42: UK 1892 Victoria Jubilee Head Silver Crown

A UK silver Crown coin dated 1892. The obverse features the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria facing left, wearing a small crown and veil with a necklace and earring. The legend reads VICTORIA D:G: BRITT: REG: F:D:. Small initials J.E.B. are struck on the truncation of the bust for the engraver Joseph Edgar Boehm. The reverse depicts the design of St. George on horseback slaying a dragon, with the date 1892 in the exergue. The coin is struck in sterling silver with a reeded edge. No mint mark is present, indicating production at the Royal Mint in London.
