Lot 29: UK 1999 and 2000 Millennium Silver Proof Five Pound Set
A pair of UK commemorative five-pound crowns, issued to mark the transition to the third millennium. The 1999-dated crown features a reverse design by Jeffrey Matthews with a clock face set at midnight over a map of the British Isles. The legend reads ANNO DOMINI 1999 2000 FIVE POUNDS. The 2000-dated crown shares this reverse design but features selective gold plating to the central clock and map elements.
