A 1967 evening bag of rectangular form with a scalloped lower edge, constructed from fine 925 silver link mesh. The bag is fitted with a hinged silver frame featuring a kiss-lock clasp topped with two spherical beads. The handle consists of a linked chain with elongated rectangular sections and hook attachments. The interior frame is struck with several legible marks: the maker’s mark CE&FDLD in a rectangular frame, a London import mark featuring a bird symbol, a 925 fineness mark within an oval, and the London date letter M for 1967 in a clipped corner shield. The bag is accompanied by a black hinged presentation box with a white satin interior lining printed with the name MALLARD JEWELLERS.
