Lot 239: A 2005 Birmingham Sterling Silver Novelty Ornament, My Last Rolo
Sold for: £55
A contemporary novelty ornament of solid silver construction, designed in the form of a Rolo confectionary sweet. The piece is of tapered cylindrical form with a recessed, concentric circular top. It is accompanied by its original circular presentation box in red, featuring a black velvet-lined interior and a red ribbon to the lid. The side of the box is printed with the white script logo LAST ROLO. A series of four hallmark punches is struck to the base of the silver object: the fineness mark 925 within an oval, the Birmingham assay office anchor symbol, the lion passant, and the lowercase date letter F in a square shield for 2005.
