Lot 336: A Late 19th Century German Wooden Mantel Clock, Junghans
Not sold
A German mantel clock featuring a wooden case with a dark stained finish. The architectural form is defined by a pediment top with a central carved shell motif, supported by two fluted pilasters on a stepped plinth base with block feet. The circular dial is white with black Roman numerals and red fleur-de-lis motifs positioned between the hour markers, complemented by ornate blued steel hands. Two winding apertures are located at the four and eight o’clock positions. The dial bears a printed mark of two crossed arrows above the six o’clock position. The rear of the case opens to reveal a mechanical movement with brass plates and a coiled wire gong strike mounted to the interior left side. A pendulum with a circular bob is present within the lower compartment. No other maker’s marks or inscriptions are visible on the movement or case.
