A vintage painted toper bottle holder, modelled in the form of a standing sea captain. The figure is depicted with a full beard, wearing a peaked officer’s cap, a double-breasted pea coat with moulded button detail, and trousers. The item features a vertical hinge to the right side and a pin-and-chain closure to the left, allowing the two halves to open and house a standard bottle within the hollow interior. The figure is mounted to an integral rectangular plinth base.
