Lot 284: A Selkirk Caithness Glass Paperweight with Gold Aventurine and Controlled Bubbles

A spherical art glass paperweight, featuring a complex internal arrangement of decorative elements. The piece contains a deep purple core surmounted by swirling waves of cobalt and turquoise blue glass, interspersed with a series of controlled air bubbles. A dense layer of gold-toned aventurine flecks is suspended near the upper surface. The base is ground and polished to a flat circular finish. A rectangular white adhesive paper label is affixed to the base, bearing the handwritten inscription 13 SELKIRK CAITHNESS in black ink. No further maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the object.
