Lot 254: Isle of Man 1998 Elizabeth II Silver 5 Pence Coin

An Isle of Man 5 pence coin, struck in silver. The obverse features the right-facing fourth definitive coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The legend reads ISLE OF MAN to the left and ELIZABETH II to the right, with the date 1998 positioned at the base. The designer’s initials IRB are struck below the neck truncation. The reverse depicts a golfer in mid-swing, viewed from a perspective behind a golf hole and flagstick, accompanied by a laurel wreath and a stylised golf ball. The denomination numeral 5 is set within a semi-circle at the bottom, flanked by the mint mark PM and a further symbol to the right. The edge is reeded.
