Lot 241: A Sterling Silver Architectural Cross Pendant on Rolo Link Chain

A solid silver pendant necklace featuring a cross of architectural, tiered-rib design. The pendant is constructed with three vertical central ribs flanked by three horizontal ribs on each arm, set against an oxidised recessed background. The borders are finished with a fine rope-twist wire detail. The pendant is suspended from a substantial rolo-link chain with a simple ring clasp and a tapered bail. The reverse of the cross is struck with the marks STERLING and a single letter Y. The piece is of heavy construction, characterised by its Modernist Brutalist form and contrasting textures.
