Lot 221: UK 1935 George V Silver Jubilee Crown

A 1935 United Kingdom silver crown, minted to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of King George V. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of King George V, surrounded by the struck legend GEORGIVS V. DG. BRITT: OMN: REX. FD. IND: IMP:. Small initials BM are visible at the base of the neck. The reverse presents a stylised, Art Deco-inspired depiction of Saint George and the Dragon, inscribed CROWN 1935. The edge of the coin is incuse-lettered with the inscription DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI XXV. The coin is composed of .500 fineness silver.
