Lot 107: A Veritas Mk.II Honing Guide

A Veritas Mk.II honing guide constructed from black finished metal with brass hardware. The tool features a wide cylindrical brass roller and three knurled brass adjustment knobs. The top of the main body is cast with the word veritas in lowercase script. Below the maker’s name is a sliding brass adjustment knob set against a color-coded micro-bevel scale featuring the numerals 1 in a red circle, 2 in a yellow hexagon, and 3 in a green circle. The clamping bar incorporates an incised measurement scale with the numerals 1 and 2 and corresponding hash marks. The underside of the clamping bar is also cast with the word veritas. The tool is designed with a side-clamping mechanism for securing plane irons and chisels during the sharpening process. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
