Lot 257: A 1/4 Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver Lydian Lion Round

A contemporary 1/4 troy ounce bullion round struck in .999 fine silver. The obverse features a stylised profile of a lion’s head with an open mouth and bared teeth, inspired by ancient Lydian coinage. This side bears the struck legend 600 BC – 2009 AD around the lower perimeter. The reverse is decorated with a centrally placed textured paw print, encircled by the inscriptions 1/4 TROY OUNCE at the top and .999 FINE SILVER at the base. Both faces feature a high-relief design against a dark, oxidised field. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
