Lot 22: Baird & Co. .9999 Fine Silver One Ounce Peregrine Falcon Round

A one ounce bullion round, struck in .9999 fine silver. The obverse features a relief depiction of a peregrine falcon in mid-flight against a textured dark field, contained within a circular border. The border is struck with the legends THE PEREGRINE FALCON and ONE OUNCE .9999 FINE SILVER. The reverse displays a central field with the struck maker’s name BAIRD & CO. in a blackletter-style script, followed by the text BULLION MERCHANTS and LONDON. This central design is enclosed by a border repeating the inscription ONE OUNCE .9999 FINE SILVER. Small circular decorative punches are situated around the outer rim of both faces. The round is produced by the London-based refiner Baird & Co.
