A UK 50 pence coin, issued as part of the London 2012 sports collection. The heptagonal coin features a reverse design depicting a rhythmic gymnast with a ribbon and the official London 2012 Olympic logo at the top. The legend 50 PENCE is struck at the bottom of the reverse. The coin is presented in its original printed card packaging, featuring the word GYMNASTICS in yellow stylised lettering against a pink and blue background. The packaging also bears the LONDON 2012 sports collection title and the official London 2012 logo. A small adhesive label or mark is visible on the pink section of the card above the coin, though the text within it is not legible. No other maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The coin is in uncirculated condition, retaining its original strike luster with no visible contact marks or toning on the reverse. The original card packaging shows minor signs of handling and wear, including a small area of surface damage or adhesive residue on the pink card face above the coin aperture.
