Lot 64: An Assortment of Clear Glassware, Including Transfer-Printed Floral Wares
Not sold
This lot comprises an assortment of clear glassware featuring a variety of forms and decorative finishes. The primary component is a set of drinking vessels decorated with a vibrant transfer-printed floral pattern, depicting large red blossoms, smaller white flowers, and red berries accented by green foliage. Several of these pieces feature a metallic gold-toned rim. The collection includes straight-sided tumblers, stemmed goblets, wine glasses with various bowl shapes including funnel and tulip forms, and several footed glasses with short, stout stems. The construction varies between moulded and blown forms. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The glassware exhibits signs of use and handling throughout. Noticeable rubbing and thinning is present on the gold-toned rims of the decorated glasses (photo 1). Fine surface scratches are visible on the clear glass bodies across the lot (photo 2). Minor loss and fading are present on the floral transfer-printed decorations (photo 3). The items are loosely stored in a plastic container, and while no major chips or cracks are immediately apparent, there is a risk of minor contact wear to the rims.
