A UK commemorative 50 pence coin, issued as part of the London 2012 sports collection for the Shooting event. The heptagonal coin features a reverse design by Pips Taylor, depicting a sport shooter in profile aiming a rifle towards three stylised clay targets, which are shown shattering. The London 2012 Olympic logo is positioned above the rifle barrel, and the denomination 50 PENCE is inscribed at the base. The obverse features the fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The coin is presented in its original colour-illustrated card packaging, featuring a stylised graphic of a shooter in pink and green. The packaging bears the printed text LONDON 2012 SPORTS COLLECTION and SHOOTING alongside the official London 2012 logo. The coin is struck in cupro-nickel.
Condition report:
The coin appears to be in brilliant uncirculated condition, exhibiting full original mint luster and no visible contact marks, toning, or surface wear. The obverse is not visible within the card mounting. The original illustrated card packaging remains in good condition with sharp corners and no visible creases or tears.
