A UK 2011 50 pence coin, part of the London 2012 Sports Collection. The seven-sided coin features a reverse design by Theo Crutchley-Mack depicting a track cyclist in a velodrome. The reverse is struck with the London 2012 Olympic logo at the top and the denomination 50 PENCE at the bottom. The obverse features the fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, surrounded by the legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 2011. The coin is presented in its original Royal Mint card packaging, featuring a blue and orange graphic design with a stylised cyclist. The packaging is printed with the text London 2012 sports collection and the word Cycling. A London 2012 logo and a hologram are present on the card.
Condition report:
The coin appears in brilliant uncirculated condition, exhibiting sharp strikes and original mint lustre. There are no visible signs of wear, contact marks, or environmental toning on the reverse surface. The original card packaging shows minor signs of handling at the corners but remains intact, with the plastic blister securely housing the coin.
