The obverse features the first definitive portrait of King Charles III, facing left, with a background of fine surface animation. The obverse is struck with the legend CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 20 PENCE. The reverse depicts the standing figure of Britannia, designed by Philip Nathan, holding a trident and a shield featuring the Union flag. The reverse design includes advanced security features such as micro-text, a surface animation background, and a latent image which changes from a trident to a padlock. The reverse is struck with the inscription BRITANNIA 2023 1/10 oz 999 FINE SILVER. The name NATHAN is struck at the bottom of the reverse design, with the initials PN visible to the right of the trident. The coin is struck in .999 fine silver.
