Lot 392: UK 2023 Charles III .999 Silver 20 Pence 1/10 oz Coin
A UK fractional silver bullion coin, struck in .999 fine silver. The obverse features the first coinage portrait of King Charles III, facing left. The surrounding legend is struck CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 20 PENCE, with the designer’s initials MJ present at the base of the truncated neck. The reverse depicts the standing figure of Britannia, holding a trident and a Union flag shield, set against a background of radial lines and advanced security features including surface animation and a latent image. The reverse border is struck with the inscription BRITANNIA 2023 1/10 oz 999 FINE SILVER, with the designer’s name NATHAN positioned at the bottom edge.

Condition report:
The coin shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse displays significant dark toning and tarnish across the fields and portrait, with minor contact marks and fine surface scratches visible on the high points of the King\'s effigy. The reverse exhibits similar dark toning and surface residue, particularly around the Britannia figure and within the radial lines, alongside light handling marks. The coin is not supplied with a protective capsule or original packaging.
