A 1998 United Kingdom fifty pence coin, issued to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the National Health Service. The coin features an equilateral curve heptagonal form. The reverse, designed by David Cornell, displays a radial pattern of outstretched hands with the repeated inscription NHS around the border, centered with 50TH ANNIVERSARY and the denomination 50 PENCE at the base. The obverse features the fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is presented in a commemorative blue pictorial folder. The folder interior includes a timeline of milestones in the history of the NHS from 1948 to 1998 and biographical information regarding the designer. Printed text on the folder identifies the coin as being struck to BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED standard. No hallmarks or fineness marks are visible on the coin or its packaging.

Condition report:

The coin is in uncirculated condition with bright luster and no visible contact marks or circulation wear on the reverse. The obverse is not fully visible due to the folder mounting. The pictorial folder shows minor shelf wear and light creasing to the edges but remains structurally sound. The coin is held securely within its original plastic mount.
