A 1996 commemorative coin collection titled FROM OLD PENNIES… TO DECIMAL PENCE, presented in a green trifold folder with a debossed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and a printed illustration of a vintage shop counter. The collection comprises fourteen coins representing the transition from pre-decimal to decimal currency. The pre-decimal section, labelled .s.d REVERSE, features seven coins: a 1965 half crown, two shillings (one English and one Scottish reverse), a 1966 sixpence, a 1967 threepence, a 1967 penny, and a 1961 halfpenny. The legends include ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA F.D. and FID DEF. The decimal section, labelled DECIMAL REVERSE, features seven coins: a commemorative one pound coin depicting the Royal Arms, a large-format 50 pence, a 20 pence, a 10 pence, a 5 pence, a 2 pence, and a 1 penny. The interior of the folder includes currency conversion tables and a text description of the decimalisation process.

Condition report:

The coins exhibit original mint brilliance and are in uncirculated or proof-like condition. The copper-alloy coins show high original red and orange lustre, particularly visible on the 1967 penny and 1961 halfpenny. Minimal contact marks are visible on the larger denominations. The card folder shows light shelf wear and a small crease to the right-hand edge (photo 1). All coins are securely held within the original presentation card mounts.
