Lot 301: A Raleigh Chopper Arrow Wedge Bicycle

A Raleigh Chopper bicycle featuring a twin-tube frame finished in yellow paint. The bicycle is equipped with high-rise chrome handlebars, a black and white padded banana seat with integrated rear suspension springs, and chrome mudguards. The frame displays a stylized black decal reading CHOPPER and a top tube decal reading ARROW WEDGE. The head tube features a black and silver adhesive badge with a heron emblem, the letter R, and the text RALEIGH BIKES. A vertical RALEIGH decal is present on the seat tube. The bicycle is fitted with a rear luggage rack, a side-mounted kickstand, and a silver bell. The wheels are of mismatched diameters, with a smaller front wheel and a larger rear wheel featuring a treaded tyre. A tyre sidewall bears the printed text MADE IN CHINA. No further maker marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The bicycle shows significant signs of age and outdoor use. The chrome-finished components, including the handlebars, sissy bar, rear rack, mudguards, and seat springs, exhibit widespread pitting, oxidation, and surface rust (photos 1, 4, and 6). The yellow painted frame has numerous scratches, chips, and areas of paint loss throughout. The seat upholstery has a large tear at the nose which has been covered with black adhesive tape (photo 1). The rear white section of the seat shows heavy discolouration and ingrained grime. The tyres appear weathered with some perishing to the rubber, and the chain and drivetrain show accumulated dirt and surface corrosion (photo 5).
