Lot 255: A Metal Window Grille with Hinges and Latch Mechanism
Not sold
A rectangular metal grille designed for use as a security window guard or small gate. The frame is constructed from square-profile metal tubing, supporting eight vertical cylindrical bars. The right-hand vertical support is fitted with two protruding hinge pins and a small sliding latch mechanism. The structure appears to be of utilitarian manufacture, featuring simple weld points throughout the frame and bar intersections. A handwritten numerical inscription 123 is visible on the upper section of the wooden cabinet behind the object, but no maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the metal item itself.
Condition report:
The item shows signs of significant environmental exposure and oxidation. Extensive surface rust and corrosion are present across the entirety of the frame and vertical bars. The latch mechanism appears to be seized by oxidation. Structural integrity remains intact with no visible breaks to the vertical bars or frame welds.
