Lot 194: A Mid-20th Century Corded Hand Drill with Multiple Accessories
Not sold
A corded electric hand drill featuring a black plastic housing and a metal chuck. The tool is fitted with a side-mounted chuck key secured by blue adhesive tape. The chuck is stamped with the characters CAP. The power cable is fitted with a white plastic three-pin plug embossed with the letters MK within a circular logo. This lot also comprises two metal cases containing an assortment of masonry and high-speed steel drill bits. One container is a grey metal flip-top index case; the other is a rectangular metal tin with significant surface oxidisation. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the drill body itself.
Condition report:
The drill shows signs of heavy industrial use and environmental exposure. The plastic housing exhibits surface wear, ingrained dust, and scratches. Significant blue adhesive tape is wrapped around the mid-section; this appears to be securing the chuck key but may also conceal structural damage to the casing. The power cord is tightly wrapped around the handle and requires a safety inspection for insulation integrity. The included drill bits are an incomplete assortment, with several displaying surface rust and wear consistent with prolonged use. The metal tin shows advanced corrosion across all exterior surfaces. The tool is untested.
