Not sold
This lot comprises an extensive collection of woodworking drill bits and boring tools, presented on two custom-made wall-mounting wooden racks. The assortment features multiple Forstner bits, including several examples with shanks struck RECORD POWER. Struck measurements on these bits include 35mm, 1-1/4, 1-3/4, and 1-5/8. The collection also includes a row of four metal plug cutters or hollow mortise bits, a set of brad point bits mounted above handwritten metric indicators ranging from 3 to 12, and two metal cases containing high-speed steel twist bits. Also present are a countersink bit, a small drill chuck adapter, a center punch, and several long-form auger and brad point bits. The larger spiral auger bit measures approximately 40cm in length. The mounting racks are of pine and plywood construction with pre-drilled holes and support battens. No other maker’s marks or labels are visible.
Condition report:
The items show signs of regular workshop use and handling. The Forstner bits exhibit wood resin buildup and surface oxidation across the cutting heads and shanks (photo 2). The large spiral auger bit displays heavy surface corrosion and rust throughout its length (photo 5). The brad point and twist bits show typical signs of use including minor surface wear and occasional resin deposits (photo 6). The wooden racks are functional with visible dust, surface wear, and handwritten notations in black ink (photo 8).
