Lot 17: UK 1998 Commemorative Fifty Pence Coin Set

This lot comprises a two-coin set of UK 50-pence coins housed in a themed presentation folder. The first coin, shown reverse side up, features a design comprising a ring of twelve stars surrounding the dates 1973 and 1998, with the denomination 50 PENCE at the base. The second coin, shown obverse side up, displays a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the circumscription ELIZABETH II D G REG F D and the denomination 50 PENCE. Both coins are heptagonal and are struck in cupro-nickel. The coins are presented in a blue and yellow card folder printed with a partial ring of stars and the legend EUROPE 1998 COMMEMORATIVE FIFTY PENCE COIN SET. The folder also features a representation of the Union Flag.
Condition report:
The coins appear in uncirculated condition with bright luster and no visible signs of wear or handling. The obverses and reverses show no significant contact marks or toning. The card presentation folder is in excellent condition with crisp edges and no visible creasing or staining. The coins are securely held within the original card packaging.
