Lot 71: A Set of Twelve Contemporary Clear Glass Hanging Lanterns
A set of twelve glass lanterns, each featuring a bulbous, bell-shaped body that tapers to a wide, reinforced circular rim. The vessels are constructed from clear pressed glass, showcasing two integral glass lugs positioned on opposite sides of the rim to secure the handle. Each lantern is fitted with a black-coated wire bail handle, arched for hanging or carrying. The set is presented in a custom-cut white foam protective shipping insert. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the exterior or interior of the glass vessels.
Condition report:
The lanterns appear to be in excellent, unused condition with no visible chips, cracks, or clouding to the glass (photo 1). The black finish on the wire handles remains intact across all twelve items with no signs of oxidation or paint loss (photo 4). The glass surfaces exhibit standard manufacturing ripples and mold seams consistent with the production process. The foam insert remains functional but displays minor surface compression and light soiling.
