Lot 210: A Pair of Indian 925 Silver Tree of Life Drop Earrings
A pair of matched drop earrings, each featuring an openwork circular medallion depicting a stylised Tree of Life with spreading branches and a detailed root system. The earrings are constructed from 925 silver and are fitted with shepherd’s hook ear wires. The reverse of the horizontal branch structure on one earring is struck with the fineness mark 925. A further struck mark below the root system on the same earring reads INDIA. No other maker’s marks or labels are visible on the items. The earrings are presented in a hinged black box with a white satin-lined interior.
Condition report:
The earrings show signs of age-related tarnish and patina throughout, particularly within the recessed areas of the openwork design and on the ear wires (photo 2). Fine surface scratches and contact marks are visible to the polished metal surfaces, consistent with handling and wear. The shepherd\'s hook wires remain in functional condition. The presentation box exhibits minor external scuffing to the corners.
