Lot 161: A Group of Lledo Days Gone London and Glasgow Tramcars

A collection of model tramcars, each of double-decker form with composite components including trolley poles and window inserts. The set includes three models in red and white London Transport livery and one in orange and green Glasgow Corporation livery. The London Transport variants feature printed advertisements on the upper deck panels: one reading LAST TRAM WEEK ON JULY 5 WE SAY GOODBYE TO LONDON, another for WOMAN’S OWN 3D EVERY FRIDAY, and a third for AH! BISTO FOR ALL MEAT DISHES. The fourth model bears the legend GLASGOW CORPORATION. The vehicles are housed in their original retail window boxes. Three boxes feature a blue and cream design printed with THE BYGONE DAYS OF ROAD TRANSPORT recaptured FOR YOU TO COLLECT. The reverse of these boxes bears the printed text 2002 LLEDO COLLECTIBLES, PARK HOUSE, MERIDIAN BUSINESS PARK, LEICESTER LE3 2WZ, GREAT BRITAIN, alongside a CE mark and MADE IN CHINA. The Bisto variant is housed in a later style box featuring a green banner reading DESIGNED IN ENGLAND and a logo stating VINTAGE DIE CAST DAYS GONE MODELS SINCE 1982.
