Lot 142: A Contemporary Abstract Landscape Painting, Coastal Scene

A contemporary abstract landscape painting, depicting a minimalist coastal or maritime scene. The composition is divided horizontally into a broad, light sky containing stylized white clouds above a layered horizon of land and water. The palette consists primarily of muted tones of grey, white, and blue, with a narrow band of beige at the lower edge representing a shoreline. The work is executed with varied applications of paint, including thin washes for the sky and water, and thicker, textured impasto strokes for the clouds and the dark horizontal landforms. The painting is presented in a light-toned wooden floater frame of modern profile. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the face of the item.
