Lot 84: A Ronson Petrol Pocket Lighter
A petrol pocket lighter of curved rectangular form, featuring an un-monogrammed shield-shaped cartouche engraved to one side. The ignition assembly is marked RONSON in block lettering. The base is stamped with the legends MADE IN ENGLAND, BRITISH PAT. NO. 291690, and RONSON TRADE MARK. The underside is fitted with two screws for flint and fuel access. A small encircled letter C is marked on the side of the upper mechanism. No hallmarks or metal purity stamps are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The lighter exhibits widespread fine surface scratching and scuffing to all faces consistent with age and use. There is visible tarnish and oxidation around the ignition assembly and the base screws. The flint screw shows signs of wear from a screwdriver. The item is mechanically complete but untested. No original packaging is included.
