Lot 349: Ten Top Trumps and Ace Card Games in Protective Cases
This lot comprises ten card game decks. Each deck is composed of printed cards housed in a storage case, including examples with clear lids and others with opaque coloured bases. Eight decks are branded TOP TRUMPS and feature themes including FABULOUS BUGGIES, INTERNATIONAL GREATS featuring football players, GERMANY (SCRAMBLE BIKES), POWER BOATS, DRAGSTERS, ITALY (SPORTS CARS), SHIPS, and SPORTS CARS. One deck is branded ACE TRUMPGAME and titled INTERNATIONAL FIRE-ENGINES. The ACE TRUMPGAME deck is printed with MADE IN WESTERN GERMANY and the reference 7228/2. Several TOP TRUMPS cases bear reference numbers including 589-22, 523-22, and 525-22. One FABULOUS BUGGIES case lid features an adhesive retail label reading 12 11-81 6 £24.95P. The visible front cards include technical data such as 2000 CC, 235 KM/H, and 180 BHP. The ACE TRUMPGAME deck is inscribed THE CARD GAME FOR COLLECTORS.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of use and storage wear. The cases exhibit surface scuffs and fine scratches throughout. A significant diagonal crack is present on the lid of one FABULOUS BUGGIES deck. The cards show minor edge wear and occasional surface marks to the visible top cards. An adhesive price sticker is attached to the lid of one case. Several cases show light yellowing to the material. The completeness of the decks has not been verified. Each deck is supplied in an individual storage case.
