Lot 200: Twelve D.C. Thomson The Dandy Book Annuals, 1967-2000
Twelve vintage hardback annuals titled THE DANDY BOOK. The collection includes issues for the years 1967, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1982, 1984, and 2000. Each volume is constructed with pictorial board covers featuring illustrations of the character Korky the Cat in various themes, including Christmas scenes, sporting activities, and western-style attire. The publications are produced by D.C. THOMSON AND CO. LTD., DUNDEE AND LONDON. Each front cover bears a printed title in stylised lettering reading THE DANDY BOOK accompanied by a printed four-digit year. The spines typically repeat the title and year. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the exterior of the books.

Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age-related wear and heavy handling typical for children\'s publications. The 1967 volume exhibits significant splitting to the spine with heavy fraying at both the head and foot. The 1977 issue has a notable loss to the paper covering at the bottom left corner of the front board and the base of the spine. General wear including bumped corners, surface scuffing to the pictorial boards, and shelf wear to the edges is present across the group. The 1971 edition shows tearing to the spine ends, while the 1972 and 1974 volumes show spine wear and softening to the corners. Internal pages have not been inspected for markings or completeness. No protective cases or original packaging are supplied.
