Lot 169: UK 2026 King Charles III .999 Silver 50 Pence Coin
A 2026 Great Britain silver coin, struck with a fineness of 999. The obverse features the left-facing uncrowned portrait of King Charles III on a stippled field. The legend is struck CHARLES III • D • G • REX • F • D • 50 PENCE. The reverse depicts the standing figure of Britannia with a trident and shield against a wave pattern, encircled by the legend BRITANNIA 2026 1/4 OZ 999 FINE SILVER. The designer name NATHAN is struck at the base of the Britannia figure. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:
The coin shows signs of heavy handling and significant surface wear. The obverse exhibits multiple deep scratches across the King\'s portrait and surrounding field (photo 2), together with a grainy, pitted texture. The reverse shows numerous fine abrasions and contact marks across the figure of Britannia and the wave background (photo 1). Dark spots of toning and tarnish are visible within the recessed areas of the design and legend on both sides (photos 1 and 2). Minor nicks are present along the milled edge. The item is not accompanied by original packaging or a protective capsule.
