Lot 9: A 2026 Cymru .999 Fine Silver Jersey-Shaped Commemorative Medal
A commemorative medal struck in .999 fine silver, shaped in the form of a short-sleeved sports jersey. The obverse is decorated with intricate engraved Celtic knotwork patterns and daffodils, featuring a central shield bearing a Welsh dragon. The obverse is struck with the inscriptions NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP 2026, 2026, and CYMRU. The reverse has a brushed finish and is struck with a square maker’s mark consisting of a grid with the letters P, U on the top row and R, E on the bottom row. Adjacent to this mark is the struck text 999 FINE SILVER. The item is presented in a white cardboard and plastic protective flip, which features a small square logo on the base tab depicting a cross and a crown-like symbol.
Condition report:
The medal shows signs of handling and surface wear. The obverse remains in good condition with crisp, legible engraving and minimal visible wear (photo 1). The reverse surface displays significant signs of wear, including numerous fine horizontal and vertical scratches and scuffs across the brushed finish (photo 2). The item is supplied in a protective cardboard flip.
