The central field is struck with the weight and fineness 1 G FINE SILVER 999,0. The base of each bar features a rectangular mark containing a circled CHI above the two-line French text ESSAYEUR FONDEUR. The edges of the bars exhibit slightly irregular surfaces consistent with separation from a larger divisible sheet. The fields show heavy oxidation throughout.
