Lot 35: A 2012 Road to London Series 99.9% Silver One Ounce Ingot
A 2012 commemorative ingot of rectangular form, struck in 99.9% pure silver as part of The Road to London 2012 series. The obverse features a relief scene of three figures on a running track and is struck with the inscription LONDON OLYMPIC GAMES 1908 and the date 1908. A blue enamelled London 2012 logo is positioned to the lower left. The reverse is struck with the legends THE ROAD TO LONDON 2012, LIMITED EDITION COMMEMORATIVE INGOT SERIES, LONDON 2012, and XXX OLYMPIC GAMES, together with the specifications INGOT SIZE: ONE OUNCE and SILVER 99.9% PURE. The official London 2012 logo appears in relief to the right of the text. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:
The ingot shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse exhibits golden-brown toning and tarnish primarily concentrated around the perimeter and edges (photo 1), with fine surface scratches to the field. The reverse shows similar golden-brown tarnish around the perimeter and edges (photo 2). The ingot is housed in a protective clear acrylic capsule which shows surface scuffing and minor scratches.
