Lot 198: US 2025 Florida Goldback 24 Carat Gold One Half Negotiable Instrument

A US 2025 Florida series Goldback negotiable instrument, denomination One Half, constructed from polymer-encased gold foil. The note is printed with an inscription stating it contains 1/2000TH TROY OUNCE 24K GOLD. The obverse features a sepia-toned central vignette depicting a woman in plate armour kneeling beside a saddled horse, positioned near a waterfall and stones inscribed SPES and 1513. A butterfly rests on the stone in the foreground. The legend FLORIDA GOLDBACK and NEGOTIABLE INSTRUMENT appear at the top, with the text BLESSED ARE THE MEEK printed at the base of the central scene. The note is bordered by green guilloche patterns and features the serial number CN63511. A printed signature reading PAUL PETERSEN is located at the lower right. Further legends include AURUM, GOLDBACK.COM, and a vertical notice reading US PATENT 10,781,520 PRIVATELY ISSUED / NOT US DOLLAR LEGAL TENDER. The reverse presents a mirrored gold foil surface. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels other than those described are visible.
