Lot 155: USA .999 Copper One Avoirdupois Ounce Round, M16 Rifle
A contemporary copper bullion round, struck from one avoirdupois ounce of .999 fine copper. The obverse features a central heraldic eagle with a shield, grasping an olive branch and three arrows, encircled by the legends COPPER .999 FINE, USA, and ONE AVDP OUNCE. The reverse depicts a vertical M16 rifle, with the text M16 RIFLE positioned to the left and Production Dates: 1964 – M16 | 1969 – M16A1 | 1983 – M16A2 to the right. The round is designed with a reeded edge. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.

Condition report:
The round shows signs of environmental exposure and handling. The obverse displays significant fine surface scratches and hairlines across the central field, with notable iridescent toning and oxidation present around the outer edges. The reverse similarly exhibits fine surface scratches throughout the field and multicoloured toning along the periphery. No protective capsule or original packaging is present.
