This lot comprises a pair of heptagonal metal coins from the London 2012 sports collection, each housed in an individual themed presentation card. The first coin features a reverse design with two boxing gloves suspended from ropes, positioned beneath the LONDON 2012 logo and above the denomination 50 PENCE. The second coin features a reverse design depicting two martial artists in a kicking exchange, positioned beneath the LONDON 2012 logo and above the denomination 50 PENCE. The obverses, featuring the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, are encased within the illustrated card folders. The presentation cards are printed with the titles LONDON 2012 SPORTS COLLECTION, BOXING, and TAEKWONDO, and feature the official logo for the London 2012 Olympic Games. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the front of the packaging.
Condition report:
The coins exhibit an uncirculated finish consistent with issues as struck for the London 2012 series. The reverse of each coin displays bright luster with no evidence of tarnish, toning, or contact marks. The obverses are not visible as they are secured inside the cards. The presentation cards show minor edge wear and slight compression at the corners. The coins are held within their original card mounts.
