Lot 366: A Pair of Table Lamps with Applied Floral Decoration and Fabric Shades
This lot comprises a matching pair of table lamps. Each lamp features a columnar base with a white glazed finish, decorated with high-relief applied floral motifs including roses and smaller blossoms. The floral elements are finished with hand-painted accents in pink, yellow, and green. The bases terminate in flared pedestals with moulded leaf designs and painted borders. The lamps are fitted with flared pink fabric shades, each featuring cream-coloured floral lace appliques and gold-toned piping to the lower edge. Each lamp is equipped with a white electrical cord and a standard United Kingdom three-pin plug. A white adhesive rectangular label printed with the numerals 1095 is present on the base of one lamp. No maker’s marks, signatures, or other labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The lamps show signs of age and previous domestic use. The ceramic bases exhibit fine all-over crazing to the glaze (photo 2). The delicate applied floral elements appear largely intact, though these features are susceptible to minor chipping. The fabric shades appear clean and in good order. As with all electrical items, these lamps require professional testing by a qualified person before use.
