Lot 315: Two Foliate Brooches with Glass Stone Accents
This lot comprises two brooches with foliate motifs. The first is an openwork circular wreath brooch, featuring interlocking scrolls and stylised leaves set with faceted clear glass stones in round and marquise cuts. The second item is a spray brooch featuring five polished lanceolate leaves in a bi-colour white and yellow metal finish. The leaves are arranged on a central stem which terminates in a cluster of three round-cut faceted clear glass stones. Both pieces are constructed from metal and fitted with horizontal pin mechanisms with safety catches to the reverse. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on either item.
Condition report:
The brooches show signs of light handling and minor surface tarnish. The bi-colour finish on the spray brooch is well-preserved. All glass stones appear to be present and secure within their settings. The pin mechanisms are in functional condition. No original boxes or documentation are supplied.
