This lot comprises three porcelain items produced by Wade. The group includes two twin-handled footed dishes of fluted, shell-like form, each featuring scroll handles and an oval pedestal foot, finished in a monochrome tan high-gloss glaze. The accompanying tortoise is naturalistically moulded with a segmented shell decorated in shades of brown and cream, featuring mottled grey and white markings to the head and legs. The underside of the tortoise bears a debossed mark in an oval cartouche reading WADE PORCELAIN MADE IN ENGLAND. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the twin-handled dishes.
Condition report:
The items show signs of age-related shelf wear and handling. There is visible surface dirt across the collection and shelf wear to the unglazed foot rims of all three pieces. The high-gloss glaze remains bright and intact across all surfaces. No chips, cracks, or repairs are evident to the porcelain bodies.
